Ryan is a registered patent attorney, principally devoting his practice to the management, procurement and protection of patent rights for some of the largest companies in the world. The patent prosecution aspect of his practice includes a concentration in the areas of food packaging, food processing, software, e-commerce, telecommunications and the mechanical arts. Ryan has also been involved in various litigation matters and has written patentability and infringement opinions.
Ryan worked from Merchant & Gould's Seattle office for three years prior to opening the Omaha office in 2008. He is currently acting as managing partner of the Omaha office, managing a Fortune 500 company client as well as representing several other local, national and international entities. Ryan has been published in two national law journals and a local legal journal. He has spoken at multiple intellectual property seminars and he is an inventor on a patent application.
